What about Vote-by-Mail for out-of-state elections?
All Vote-by-Mail ballots for elections outside of the state of California must be postmarked by the U.S Postal Service on or before the election deadline.
The BruinsVote coalition strongly encourages all out-of-state voters to mail in their ballot well before the respective postmark deadline and to check that their ballot has the necessary postage.
Visit the Campus Vote Project or Plan Your Vote to find the Secretary of State’s website for your site and verify your state’s election policies.
Same-Day Voting at UCLA
If you are eligible to vote in LA County and you did not register by the deadline, you will still be able to register to vote and cast a provisional ballot at any Vote Center, including the Vote Centers at UCLA.
You will be asked to complete a Conditional Voter Registration (CVR) form on the spot. You will then be instructed to complete your provisional ballot on a ballot marking device.
Instead of scanning the ballot into the ballot marking device, you will hand your provisional ballot to an election official. Your provisional ballot will be counted once your Conditional Voter Registration is verified.
CVR voters can check the status of their provisional ballot at LA County's provisional ballot status service.
For more instructions, check out LA County's provisional voting instruction.
